Siasprint Eco Plus UV Curing System has taken a radical departure from the old unsafe and non-efficient transformers found in today’s conventional UV curing equipment and replaced it with a PLC-driven Electronically Controlled System. The advantage here is plain and simple; no ominous electrical current spikes or peaks, saving up to 40-50% or more on direct energy costs and eliminating high demand charges from the utility company.

The supply voltage is evenly balanced and remains constant when the UV lamps are turned on, unlike the old transformers. In this way the UV lamp(s) last longer and the UV lamp output is stepless control from 0 – 100% of maximum setting. This allows setting the correct UV curing parameter and quality control for those inks that may be more difficult to cure and each UV lamp can be monitored by an output measuring device to indicate when the UV lamps reach below security level for replacement.

Hidden economic benefits related to low power consumption occur after the UV curing cycle since the UV lamps power down to 10% stand-by mode; 300-400% less than transformer powered UV system. Most of the heat is shielded during the curing cycle and the reflectors rotate 180° at the end of each curing cycle. When the UV lamps are power down to 10% stand-by mode the exhaust motor speed is reduced at the same time to prevent the use of excessive make-up air from the facility. This reduction of facility resources offers less energy consumed and less tonnage is required for air-conditioning and BTU’s heating units.

By shielding the UV lamps no printed material can come in contact with them to cause a fire. The soft/instant lamp start function further saves energy because the entire system can be turned off any time for printing adjustments, rechecking, print approvals or breaks and no waiting time for the UV system to power up.

The Siasprint Eco Plus UV Curing System pays for itself by reducing the direct and indirect operating cost. While this is standard equipment for a new Multiformula and Multigraphica screen printing machines, it’s also available for retrofitting some existing Siasprint multicolor lines and free-standing systems.
